Within the OCTRA (Online Course Catalogues and Databases for Transparency and Recognition) project, the Project progress meeting of project partners was held on 13-14 September 2021 in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The host of the meeting was the Centre for Information and Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education while the meeting was attended by the representatives of the Academic Information Centre – Latvian ENIC/NARIC in person. Other project partners, ENIC/NARIC centres of Bulgaria, Estonia, Croatia, Poland and Russian Federation attended the meeting online.
Centre for Information and Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education has been informed that the Secretariat of the Education of the Council of Europe is very pleased to announce the launching of the Call for Applications for the Best Practice Programme in Promoting Academic Integrity.
Public and private higher education institutions recognized as belonging to the education system of one of the 50 States parties to the European Cultural Convention as well as Student unions of those 50 States are eligible to apply.

Within the Working Group on Western Balkans Agreement on Recognition of Academic Qualifications, in Tirana, the Republic of Albania, on 2 June 2021 the meeting of the Lead Negotiators was held. Representatives from six economies, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo (the name defined with the UN Resolution 1244 from 1999) participated at the meeting.
The University of Herzegovina has published an announcement for all international and local students to participate in the new summer program for 2021. The summer program is led by the most dedicated professors and alumni, and lasts 1-3 weeks during the summer break, from 5 to 25 July 2021. Students can choose from five different courses: English or Croatian language, digital marketing, and web design, art therapy, or rural tourism. Representatives from six economies, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo (the name defined with the UN Resolution 1244 from 1999) participated at the meeting.
The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the initiative “Micro-credentials for lifelong learning and employability”. The consultation is open until 13 July. The objective is to collect ideas for the development of a common definition of micro-credentials, EU standards for their quality and transparency, and further steps to be taken at institutional, national and EU level.
An online PLA on the enhancement of cooperation and work of ENIC/NARIC centres in the framework of the EPER project took place at the Qualifications Agency in Belgrade on 16 April 2021.
The objective of the PLA was the enhancement of regional cooperation between ENIC/NARIC centres and other key institutions from project partner countries through the networking of accredited higher education institutions and creating a database, as well as through harmonisation and enhancement of procedures for verification of the authenticity of diplomas acquired in project partner countries.
