Within the Working Group on Western Balkans Agreement on Recognition of Academic Qualifications, in Podgorica, Montenegro, on 11-12 May 2021 the meeting of the Lead Negotiators was held. Representatives from six economies, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo (the name defined with the UN Resolution 1244 from 1999) participated at the meeting.

The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the initiative “Micro-credentials for lifelong learning and employability”. The consultation is open until 13 July. The objective is to collect ideas for the development of a common definition of micro-credentials, EU standards for their quality and transparency, and further steps to be taken at institutional, national and EU level.

An online PLA on the enhancement of cooperation and work of ENIC/NARIC centres in the framework of the EPER project took place at the Qualifications Agency in Belgrade on 16 April 2021.

The objective of the PLA was the enhancement of regional cooperation between ENIC/NARIC centres and other key institutions from project partner countries through the networking of accredited higher education institutions and creating a database, as well as through harmonisation and enhancement of procedures for verification of the authenticity of diplomas acquired in project partner countries.

Within the ‘Spotlight on Recognition’ project (coordinated by the European University Association), the STREAM online training platform is open for the second round of training. The platform is specifically geared towards admissions officers working in higher education institutions in the European Higher Education Area.In addition to the training materials, platform members can use the “real cases forum” to post questions on specific cases and ask advice from peers across Europe.The platform is open from 19 April to 19 August and participation is free of charge.

The project invites all higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to participate.

The National Erasmus+ office in Bosnia and Herezegovina infomed us that the the new Erasmus+ Programme Guide 2021-2027 has been launched as well as its first Calls for Proposals.

Within the OCTRA (Online Course Catalogues and Databases for Transparency and Recognition) project, the Project kick-off meeting was held on 26 January 2021. The project was approved by the Erasmus+ program, the K3 activity “Support for Policy Reform”.

This project aims is to increase dialogue with higher education institutions (HEIs) by agreeing on a template of course catalogues and improvement of national qualifications databases and registers (NQD) that would guide to structured and transparent learning outcomes of HE qualifications facilitating the automatic recognition.

Launched by the HURBE consortium under the Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education (CBHE) project “Healthy URBan Environment: Developing Higher Education in Architecture and Construction in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, HURBE2021 aims to share interdisciplinary vision studies, plans, projects, and experiences for making Healthy City.
